ABOUT ELIZABETH COOPER

Halifax-Dartmouth lawyer Elizabeth Cooper has a rare skill set in quite diverse areas of Canadian law. She heads a criminal defense law firm defending clients charged with all types of offenses under the Criminal Code, including appeals. The experienced attorney also represents people charged with offenses under other legislation and regulations, such as the Excise Act and the Revenue Act (contraband tobacco).

 

Elizabeth has extensive experience working with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms from her work in the development, interpretation and drafting of laws and her criminal law practice. Elizabeth possesses two graduate degrees in law.

 

Law Scholarships and Theses

Elizabeth Cooper was one of three Canadians who were granted a full scholarship by the European Commission to complete a Masters in Law in European Community Law (International Trade Law) at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. She completed her thesis in Comparative Constitutional Law under the direction of the Head of Graduate Studies in Law at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
